The Youngest Children

Infant-Toddler Catechesis delves into the spirituality of the very youngest children, inspired by the insights of Maria Montessori, Sofia Cavalletti, Gianna Gobbi, Silvana Montanaro, and those who continue to observe children's nature and religious potential in God's light.  The atrium, we believe, is where the mystery of God intersects with the mystery of the child – a timeless meeting place. It prompts us to consider: has there ever been a moment when the Creator's love didn't embrace His creation, and the creation wasn't touched, sustained, and shaped by that love, ultimately called to embody love itself?    (From: https://www.cgsusa.org/discover/cgs-approach/the-infant-toddler-atrium/)

Early Childhood

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an excellent program for children aged 3-12. This reflective-based religious formation initiative is aimed at helping your child grow in their relationship with God in a way that aligns with their developmental stage. It draws inspiration from Sacred Scripture, the Liturgy, and Maria Montessori's educational philosophy. Originating in Rome in 1954, this program was founded by Sofia Cavalletti, a Scripture scholar, and Gianna Gobbi, a Montessorian, who recognized the importance of nurturing children's spiritual growth. Over the past 60 years, they've crafted materials and curricula tailored to your child's religious potential, providing prayer, meditation, and spiritual development opportunities. The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an ongoing endeavor, continually evolving to meet the spiritual needs of children. It's designed to help your child grow in faith and mature in their relationship with Christ.
